Community Horse Sanctuary Sara

In late summer of 2018, Sara developed a melanoma above her left eye.  Melanomas are common in gray horses though not in that spot and are generally not fatal, but it was causing her eye to ooze and we struggled with treatment.  Fortunately, Dr Saunders from Willamette Valley Equine was able to help her.  She treated her with chemotherapy over the course of several months and greatly reduced the size of the tumor.  Each of the injections cost ~$500, but they worked!
